I received pulmonary rehab sessions for several years due to the worsening of my lungs due to a genetic disease called Alpha One. During those years from 2016 until my bilateral lung transplant in August 2022, I requested continued rehab sessions, so got to know the therapists Jaimie and Carry pretty well and they got to know me. They urged me to keep working and kept me from failing faster, sitting at home, existing. I had never seriously considered a double lung transplant, it seemed so daunting, but my lungs were much worse than I knew. After a successful transplant and recovery, I have continued to see Jaimie, Carrie, Lauren and Mitch as they have helped me with physical therapy to work on posture, balance, strength and nerve pain resulting from a subsequent major surjury. I consider these very knowledgeable and inventive people my lifeline towards better health. My lungs are healthy and strong.... if only the rest of my body were as young and strong ; - )
